Agronomy is a division of agricultural science embracing preparation of soil accordance with crop demands, enriching the soil with organic matter and plant nutrients, choice of crops and varieties to fit the climate, crop rotations and intercropping, suitable dates of sowing, moisture regulation, drainage, weed management, harvesting and processing to an extent. It deals essentially with all aspects of soil, crop and water management to increase productivity of crops. Agronomy deals with the various principles and practices of soil, water and crop management to raise the farmer economically. And that’s why agronomy is considered as the mother branch of agriculture. Agronomy section covers a major part of B.Sc. Agriculture course curriculum. A well-equipped section laboratory is located at farm just near to college campus. Section is always actively engaged in conducting various farm research projects, seasonal crop cafeteria, on-farm practical experiments with active participation of students. Agronomy section offers following courses throughout the 04 Year Degree Programme of B.Sc. Agri. (Hons.):
